The Head of State H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi has stated that education is the key to prosperity in life.

The President gave the sentiments as he wished 380 students well in their efforts to excel in further studies abroad at a function held at the Presidency to bid them farewell as they depart to Ethiopia.

He also praised the parents, teachers and the nation at large for the grand efforts achieved.

This is the largest batch ever to leave at one go for further studies.

“In order to prosper in every aspect of life, be it clean bill of health, water or air, the prosperity any populace  would aspire to would only be achieved through education and technical expertise”, the President advised the audience.

He pledged that the state would focus on the prosperity of the future for the youth (students).

He told them that they were at the helm of advance education hence their people and their nation were waiting for them to give back to the community.

The audience was graced by the attendance of the VP H.E. Abdirahman Abdillaih Ismael, Education Minister Hon. Yasin Haji Mohamud, his deputy Hon. Abdiqadir Mohammud, Hargeisa University Chancellor Dr. Mohammed Yusuf Musa, some members of the cabinet, senior education department officials, all the students awarded the scholarships, their parents and\ or guardians.

Words of advice were given by the several speakers who spoke at the function.

The education minister pointed out that the selection of the awardees was drawn from both public and private institutions at 70% and 30% respectively.
