Windhoek, Namibia – The Republic of Somaliland is participating in a major African conference on prison rehabilitation, themed “The Philosophy of Rehabilitation: Beyond Prison Walls.” The gathering, running from 9-13 June 2025, brings together justice officials from over 45 nations.
Somaliland’s delegation is led by the Ministry of Justice, represented by Mr. Ibrahim Khadar Siad.
Mr. Said who previously served as Director of Prisons and Human Rights, currently heads the Ministry’s Legal and Policy Affairs Directorate.
The conference is jointly organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Namibian government, with the host nation’s Ministry of Home Affairs, Security, and Correctional Services overseeing logistical arrangements.
Notably, Somaliland’s national flag is being prominently displayed alongside those of other participating states throughout the event.
