The Ministry of Aviation & Airport Development in a press statement released on the October 22, 2025 and read as follows:-
The Ministry of Aviation and Airport Development of the Republic of Somaliland has issued a formal statement regarding the increasing volume of air travel to the nation by individuals holding dual citizenship and passports from Western countries, including the United States, Canada, and nations across Europe.
The Ministry emphasizes that aviation and airport operations are governed by stringent international laws and technical protocols. These matters are not subject to political negotiation, public discourse, or external advisement, particularly from entities that have previously neglected their duties. The integrity and safety of Somaliland’s airspace remain the paramount concern.
In executing its constitutional mandate, the Ministry has implemented all requisite measures to ensure regulatory adherence. All aircraft operating within Somaliland’s airspace and utilizing its airports are hereby notified that they must comply fully with the Aviation and Travel Laws of the Republic of Somaliland.
Non-compliant operators will face immediate revocation of their landing rights and access to Somaliland’s sovereign airspace.
