Mogadishu: The Somali government has announced the arrest of three men suspected of being behind the shocking recent incident on the outskirts of the Wanlaweyn district in the Lower Shabelle region, where a man suffering from a physical disability was killed and his body subsequently burned.

The victim, identified as Ishaaq Da’uud Mohamed, was stabbed to death in the Dudumaay area on Friday afternoon. A video of the horrific act was widely circulated on social media, sparking outrage and profound grief among the Somali public.

The Somali National Army Headquarters stated that a joint operation conducted by the Somali military and the Southwest Darawish police led to the arrest of the suspects responsible for the crime.

The Commander of the Somali Ground Forces, General Khalid, confirmed to the media that the arrested individuals are named as Salah Hussen Ali, Abdihamid Abdullahi Siidow, and Dahir Mukhtaar Shiribow.

The General also stated that the suspects have been handed over to the Military Court to ensure justice is served. He emphasized that the government will not allow brutal acts of this nature to occur in the regions of the country.
