Hargeisa-Somtel the leading telecommunication company in Somaliland launched the new Subcis Quran learning service for Quranic teachers and Schools in an event held in Hargeisa.

Mr. Khadar Abdurrahman Abdallahi, head of public relations and sales department speaking during the launching of the new service said, “Somtel, the leading communication company has been working around the clock to create new resources to support Quran teachers and Quran schools affected by current school closures Somaliland.

He added, “Students in Somaliland can now browse profiles of hand-picked Quran teachers who teach Quran courses like Quran Recitation, Tajweed, Quran memorization and Arabic language while staying at home. Students through Subcis service will be able to use their classroom time to connect Quran teachers and continue Quran lessons by choosing a classroom plan to continue with their studies in the comfort of their homes.

Sultan Sheik Ahmed, the administrator of Aflax and Sheik Abdurrahman of Daru-Ul-Tarabiya were part of the Somtel team and Quran teachers who tested the new Subcis Quran learning service in the past weeks.

Sultan Sheik Ahmed, the administrator of Aflah speaking during the launching of Subcis service thanked Somtel for innovation which will enable students to resume Quran lessons during the current school closure.

Sheik Abdurrahman of Daru-Ul-Tarabiya, on his part, said that with the new Somtel Subcis Quran learning service for Quranic Schools, the courses are scheduled according to the convenience of the students, so that learning the Quran can easily be adjusted according to their daily routine without any hassle. For their convenience, and can now learn Quran everywhere, at any time, on any device.

Sheik Mohamed Aden Mohamed, the Imam of Masjidul Ali Matan and chairman of the Qur’an competition committee said, “Dahabshiil group continues to play an important role in caring for the Holy Quran and to reinforce our Islamic faith. He further said that back in 1999, himself and Sheik Derie applied to Mr. Mohamed Said Duale to fund the National Annual Qur’anic recitation competition which he wholeheartedly accepted and continues to fund till present.

Mr. Abdinassir Daud, the deputy chairperson of Somtel speaking at the event said, “The new Somtel Subcis Quran learning service for Quranic Schools uses the latest software such as video streaming, whiteboard, group screen sharing and multi-channel audio to make Quran interactive learning experience. Interactive Quran makes Quran learning easy for kids and adults through enhanced Learning.

Mr. Aden Abdillahi, the director-general in the ministry of religious affairs and endowment thanked Somtel and Mr. Khadar Abdurrahman Abdallahi team for coming up with solutions which will enable Quran teachers and Quran schools affected by current school closures to continue with their work.
