Mr. Mukhtar Mohamed Ali, Director General in the Ministry of Minerals and Energy currently on a working visit Las Anod, inspected several ongoing development projects in Sool region.
The Director General and his delegation upon their arrival in Las Anod were welcomed by the Sool Regional Administration.
The Director General of the Ministry of Minerals and Energy, along with the Governor of Sool Region and other officials, unveiled a solar energy project installed at Las Anod General Hospital.
The project was funded and supported by the Norwegian government and implemented by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.
Director General of the Somaliland Ministry of Minerals and Energy Mukhtar Mohamed Ali explained the benefits of the project at Las Anod General Hospital, noting that the hospital will save much-needed incurred through electricity bills. He noted that the project, was funded by the Norwegian government, and that similar energy projects were being implemented in Hudun, Boomame and Buhoodle.
Mr. Abdiqani Mohamud Jideh , Governor of Sool region thanked the Ministry of Minerals and Energy the ministry for responding to their request to install the Solar power grid at the Hospital , he noted that the project which will play an important role in the development of Las Anod.
The Mayor of Las Anod, Abdiaziz Hussein Taarwale, the Director of Las Anod Hospital, Fahima Koosa-Fare, the Coordinator of the Ministry of Minerals and Energy of Sool region and other officials were among those attending the launching of the Solar energy project.
