Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi was among thousands of mourners attending state funeral for the late poet Mohamed Ibrahim Warsame Hadrawi, who passed away on Thursday in Hargeisa at the age of 79.

The late poet was buried at Baqiic Cemetery located in the western fringes of Hargeisa on Friday afternoon.

President Muse Bihi Abdi and the speaker of Somaliland House of Elders, Mr. Saleeban Mohamud Adan, expressed their condolences on behalf of Somaliland people to the families, friends and Somali people on the passing of Hadrawi.

The President said that the deceased was a dictionary that cannot be absent from everyone’s life and is used in different areas of life.

The state funeral for the deceased was attended by the President, the Vice President, Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail (Sailici), speaker of Somaliland House of Elders, Saleban Mohamud Adan, members of the cabinet and parliament, delegations from Djibouti and the Somali regional government in Ethiopia, politicians, poets, musicians, writers, people in business, traditional leaders and hundreds of people and community leaders.

Former Somali Foreign Minister Mr. Yusuf Garad Omar and other politicians from the Federal Republic of Somalia also attended the funeral.
