Football. Somaliland won its first international match ever. They did it against a combination of players from Sävsjö 1-0 (0-0). Over 1000 people watched the game.

It was the party that so many had hoped for when Somaliland lined up for their first international match of all time. It was win against Team Sweden, which had players from Vrigstad, Stockaryd / Rörvik, Sävsjö and Hulta Farm.

The match was a long time speechless, and most of the more than 1 000 people at Tallåsen Vrigstad thought enough of an aimless results. But then tore Abdi Anad Mohammed loose and after he cheated off two defenders, he could roll the ball into the net with just over ten minutes left to play.

It was the first goal for Somaliland but hopefully it was just the first of many other targets in the future, says Abdi Anad Mohammed.

Somaliland are now traveling to London and will there be the closest face Nigeria and Burundi in the African Nations Cup. A tournament with players who normally play in European teams.

– Now we got important confidence for the games ahead, continues Abdi Anad Mohammed. Christian Ahlin
