A pioneering modern exclusive minibus operation was launched today in Hargeisa, becoming the first firm in the country to run such business and kicked off with an initial fleet of several dozen cars.
Sahal transportation and Logistics Company is a new transport company operating a fleet of brand new fleet of mini buses in all regions of the country.
Mr. Muhktar Ali Osman, the new firm head of sales and marketing speaking at the function said, “Sahal transportation and Logistics Company is an entrepreneurial-minded transportation services company, with a specific focus on same-day logistics and outsourced transportation services.
“We bring transportation intelligence to business using our system of drivers and partners to provide customized courier solutions, giving you meaningful and measurable advantages”, he added.
The buses are cutting edge featuring air-conditioning, easy access design, high quality comfort and interior trim, priority seating for women, families and those who are less mobile.
Somaliland Minister of Commerce and International investment Hon Muse Kassim Omer speaking at the event said, “Today we gather here for the launching of Sahal transportation and Logistics Company, although this is not the first privately owned Transport Company in the country, its the first one to be owned by the country entrepreneurial youth.
“Access to public transportation gives people transportation options to get to work, go to school, visit friends, or go to a doctor’s office, I wish you the best and hope you shall succeed, “he said .
H.E Vice President Abdurrahman Abdullah Ismael “Saylic” was the guest of honor at ceremony held today for the launching of Sahal transportation and Logistics Company.
The Vice President Abdurrahman Abdullah Ismael “Saylic” speaking at the launching ceremony said, “Public transportation in the Somaliland is a crucial part of the solution to the nation’s economic, energy, and environmental challenges – helping to bring a better quality of life. In increasing numbers, people are using public transportation and local communities are expanding public transit services. Every segment of American society – individuals, families, communities, and businesses – benefits from public transportation.
Hon Saylic added, “Reliable Public transportation plays a significant role in finding solutions to the numerous challenges facing Somaliland today.
“Taking a proactive role in public safety by reviewing, approving and monitoring system safety program plans so as to guarantee the safety of your customers and I promise the government will provide all the necessary assistance you may need, keep up the good work”, said the VP.
