Somaliland took part in a conference held in Rwanda that saw the participation of forty countries of the African continent where the national policy of the African continent policies on surgeries was discussed.
The conference organized by the Ministry of Health of Rwanda was held at the now celebrated Pan-African health academy, the University of Globle Health Equity, next to Butaro national hospital in Kigali, Rwanda.
The symposium was opened by the Rwandese health minister Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana.
Speaking on the African National Surgical Policy and where the stand in Africa, Prof Abebe Bekele, Dean of the UGHE College of Medicine, said, “The purpose of the Pan-African Surgical Healthcare Forum is to bring together decision-making stakeholders across Africa to discuss and learn from each other”.
Somaliland was represented by the Deputy Health Minister Hon. Liban Yusuf Osman and participated in the forum. He praised all the organizers of the meeting.
