Somalia was known for its anarchy, piracy, terrorism and illegal migration and warlords. Moreover, Somalia leaders are famous for being corrupt. If you think you are a Somalia expert and you know all about Somalia and need not know more about that miserable country and its regime then think again, because these are only the tip of an iceberg.
Now, we witness the internationally recognized government of Somalia coming up with new innovative ways to deceive the world and its citizens, Somalia is currently the only country on earth where you can openly buy a parliamentary seat in the open market place. Yes, that is true – the ex-Foreign Minister of Somalia Ms. Fozia Yusuf Haji Adan just did that and was sworn to take a seat in the Somalia house of parliament and in the midst of her peers – I say her peers in a bad way, because they all bought their seats and are all ready to sell their Members of Parliament seats for huge profits. If that does not surprise you, please keep reading.
It was just a week ago, when Hassan Sheikh Mohamud the tribally selected leader of Somalia went to Rwanda, pretending to sympathize with those who were killed in the Rwandan genocide. Anyone, who saw his picture during the Rwandan genocide commemoration, would have contemplated that the man deeply cared about human lives and specially the lives of those who perished in the Rwandan genocide.
Despite the image he tried to portray for himself in Rwanda, It did not take him too long to show his true colors, but it took him less than a week to show them for all to see – the colors of insincerity and inhuman callousness.
In just few days, the man forgot all the history he learned or correctly to say, he pretended to have learned from Rwanda genocide. On April 12, 2014, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud celebrated the anniversary of the Somali National Army’s day and praised the achievements of the same army that killed, looted properties, raped and tortured and ethnically cleansed millions of Somalilanders. If he does not care about the genocide of his fellow Somalis and former compatriots then why would he care about the Rwandan genocide with which he does not share language, religion and ethnicity? This is a pure hypocrisy from the part of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
In reality, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud does not care whether humans suffer in genocide or in holocaust. All he cares about is staying in power. Rwandans make part of the African forces that give him and his regime the protection they need to stay in power. That was the only reason that took Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to the Rwandan capital and not to sympathize with Rwandans or learn a lesson in the history of human suffering in the hands of ruthless criminals no matter whether they are from Rwanda, Somalia or Nazi Germany.
To add insult to injury, just few months ago and during the Somaliland –Somalia talks in Turkey the regime in Mogadishu has condemned the atrocities that were committed against Somalilanders by the Somali National Army.
Somalilanders and international experts in the history of Somalia were not surprised by the moves of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, because the Somalia regime does not value human lives, international agreements or does not respect the rights of its own citizens.
In Istanbul, Turkey the regime of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud signed a traffic control agreement in which Somaliland and Somalia were supposed to jointly control the air space of the two countries from Hargiesa, the capital of the Republic of Somaliland. For the second time that agreement was breached by the Mogadishu regime without taking in to consideration the consequences of their action and the impact it will have on their international relations.
Additionally in Turkey talks, Somaliland and Somalia agreed not to make inflammatory statements against each other. That too was breached, not ones but many times. The selected leader of Puntland State of Somalia made fool of himself few weeks ago by falsely alleging that Al-Shabaab are supported and trained in Somaliland. It did not take a week, when a Puntland soldier murdered two United Nations consultants in Galkayo, Puntland. The Puntland leader was present few meters away from the crime scene. To his embarrassment all international staff in Puntland was immediately evacuated to Hargiesa, the capital of the Republic of Somaliland.
Finally, the Mogadishu regime is trying to destabilize the Republic of Somaliland by supplying moral, material and military assistance to mercenary terrorist groups that commit crimes within Somaliland borders.
If these are not immorality, deception and ignorance, I am then running out of adjectives to explain the political realities in Somalia.

I know the answer to it, but I will just keep it to myself, Having said that my friend you have mixed everything that looks different in your article and compared apple and orange, SNA and SNM are both responsible for the atrocities that took place in Hargeisa, infact SNM committed more crimes than what SNA did those ugly days. I called it ugly day because it was unjust war where brothers killed brothers and civilians were cought in between. I don’t have a number to the civilians that perished but I can only imagine being cought in between two armies exchanging fires. SNA did not target civilians and even some of the pilots refused to bomb Hargeisa, I personally know few, so why compare that to Rwanda whereby HUTUS killed TUTSIS indiscriminately and in a matter of 4 months 800,000 people died? The world is not blind and if such killing took place in your towns it difenitely woud have been in the history books. SNA will stand on its feet no doubt and will safeguard Somali Unity. Its surprising that you hate SNA and Somali while those under occupation in NFD are now saying NFD belongs to Somalia.

Secondly this article is full of hogwash. If somaliland argument is based on 1988, well siyad barre aint here today why not join somalia? if their arguement is noone apologized well the SFG did. Today there is no colonial border, today there is federal borders. This is the law of the land, if you want colonial borders then you my friend will need to move to the UK, since this is Somalia soil and legally so. Colonial agreement ceased to exist in 1960 through the union, agreements that ceased to exist has no legal binding on us, so nice try. But federalism has a legal binding on you since somalis agreed on it and the world recognizes it even your best friend in addis ababa recognizes federalism for you. If you are serious about somaliland being an indepedent country you need to first cut all ties with ethiopia who rejects your policies. Puntland doesnt befriend nations that doesnt agree with our federal policies, this was seen evidently in our boycot of cairo and jabuti conferences in the late 90s and early 2000s.
If somaliland wants recognition you must cut ties with any nation that doesnt agree with you, this includes ethiopia or your just full of lies trying to seek more power in somalia through threats of separation when not only cant you separate but your policies expose that your playing bluff or else you wouldnt be friends with ethiopia or any nation that rejects your separation policy.
Lastly but not least. Puntland is twice the size of all northern region. Bosaso to galkayo is 750km, our coastline is 1600 kilometers from 3200 kilometer coastline of somalia roughly half. Borame to las anod is only 500 kilometers and your coastline is 300 kilometers. Even with your northern borders your still a very small area compared to Puntland. As for population saxib puntland is 2.1 million as determined by the most comprehensive census taken since 1980s for somalia. Alot of data was used for this census including satellite imagery, datasets of population from the UN, comparison techniques on kenyan settlements, it includes counts on cities,towns,settlements and also rural population, land data techniques, and so much more data it is to much to list. Notice how North East Zone which is bari,mudug,nugal is 2.1 million and North west zone is 1 million which includes sool, sanag since they are termed northern areas. If you look at somaliland last election only 500k votes was counted, interestingly the voting booths were put it in only snm and awdal territories and not harti territories. So according to the census if the north is 1 million and we know 500k votes were counted in snm and awdal territories then the other 500k is harti territories of the north. How do you compare such a small clan isaaq to puntland is beyond me. Isaaq is like one jilib of majerten maybe ali saleban or something like that. 500k population cant be compared to a 2.1 million population it is 6 times your size in people, land and sea.
If you look closely at those census results, even the south central areas was estimated to be 5 million and with that estimate it isnt only hawiye but includes darod,rahanwayn,dir and other minority groups that live there. So stop chewing your wild jaad and keep your mouth away from Puntland before I provide you with more facts regarding economies and living standards of our region compared to yours done from human development report in 2012, sxb your way behind in every sense

If SNA killed innocent victims, half of the Somali army was from your tribe and they were taking orders from Mohamed Siad Barre until the day he fled the country. The same officers who were leading the assault on our civilians in northern Somalia like Dahir Riyaale became fictional president in your tribal enclave. Others like Dhagawayne led the national forces that assaulted the eastern region of Somalia; these men killed innocent civilians and poisoned water wells with maximum efficiency to please Siad Barre. How can men like these are strolling in Hargeisa today without facing justice for the crimes they committed against Somali people? How is it that you blame every other Somali that is not of your clan on this heinous crime? Can you really say all those who are claiming to be Mujahids in the Mafrishs of Hargeisa were actually with SNM? Probably you can because as a tribal individual, you cannot reason in a logical civilized manner.
The real god of Somali people is tribalism; they worship clan and camels better than the Almighty god. You can never assign a blame to your tribe although you want to shame every other Somali. forget this nonsense and clan mentality; there is no country called Somaliland. Somalia is one and its people will be better off united than divided into clan fiefdoms.

Let me refresh your faded memory as it seems…if SNM warriors did not fight for justice and equality, not that only Somalilanders will be suffering immensely up to day but entire populace in the Horn of Africa will be as well. It’s a hard sale in attempting to rewrite a history. Nobody has ever become victorious in fighting against proven scientific evidences, and nobody ever will.
