The President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E Muse Bihi Abdi on Wednesday in Dar-weyne district of Maroodi Jeh region launched the first-ever training the first batch of military officers of consisting of male and female graduates.
During the launching ceremony of the officers training course at the Abdullahi Askar collage, The President of the Republic of Somaliland, and the Chief of General Staff of SL armed forces was flanked by the various commandants of the SL Armed Forces , Police , Prisons , Immigration and Coast guards corps, and the Minister of Defense.
During the occasion, the heads of the various armed forces gave inspirational speeches to the youthful cadets who soon shall completed their training as officers in the national youth service program as Somaliland armed forces cadetship.
The distinguished officers in charge of training Abdullahi Askar Military Officers collage speaking on the occasion reiterate their commitment to indoctrinated, train and equip the newly graduated cadets with the skills which are in line with their High education and in establishing the basics of modern military educational structure for the youthful officers.
Major General Nuh Ismail Tani, the chief of staff of Somaliland armed forces speaking at the event thanked the Head of State for availing the youth the opportunity to serve in the national youth service, some who are now being trained as the future officers; Major General Nuh Ismail Tani urged the participating youth to complete their training and further put their newly acquired into use.
The commander described it as was a privilege that the new officers have access to all aspects of education starting from elementary, middle, high, university, and military college courses in their country.
Hon Abdiqani Mahmud Ateeye, minister of defense on his part declared that it was a good sight to see a new of well-educated young men had joined the national armed forces and had been trained as the future officers in their own country.
The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E Muse Bihi Abdi in his speech to the newly graduating officers and new recruits advised them on the awaiting servitude to the nation, significance and potential of being a serving member of the various arms of the national armed forces.
President Muse Bihi Abdi asserted the role and means of the new recruits to protect the nation in which He said, “You’re embarking on a mission to protect your own self, nation and its aspirations and with this commitment comes risks and sacrifices, anyone who is not committed to the status quo is not a solider but pretending to be one .
On the other hand, the President inspected the facilities such as the educational, accommodations, and cafeteria for the cadets and those participating in the national youth service program.
