The Director General of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Mukhtar Mohamed Ali leading a high level delegation embarked on a working visit to the coastal city of Berbera, Sahil region.
The Director General was accompanied by Ministry of Energy and Minerals officials and a delegation from Norway, in particular the Norwegian Embassy in Kenya, and the Norwegian International Support (NIS).
The delegation, led by the Director General visit to Sahil was to inspect and monitor the overall development projects of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and other development projects in the Sahil region, such as:
- Berbera University of Marine Sciences
- Vocational school
- Renewable Energy Project in Berbera
- Berbera Port
Overall, the visit, which was warmly welcomed by regional leaders, community members and regional stakeholders, concluded with an understanding, and closer cooperation between Norway and Somaliland with the support of concerned parties.
