The PFM Coordination Unit of the Ministry of Finance Development in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and Accountant General Office has organized a three-day training on International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) cash basis, with special emphasis on closing accounts.
Key finance personnel from some of the country’s “grade D” municipalities attended the program, including Adaadley, Arabsiyo, Wajaale, Faraweyne Allaybaday, Bulla-haar, Balli-dhiig, and Durruqsi.
The training aims to familiarize participants with the basic requirements for International Public Sector Accounting Standards, as well as practical knowledge of closing accounts, in order to improve the quality of financial reporting by local governments and increase transparency and accountability in the use and management of public funds.
