Erigavo-Burao to be constructed aptly with culverts for transverse drainage

17 containers holding direly needed culvert construction facilities meant for water-way transvers drainages for the Burao-Erigavo roads have reached the port of Berbera.
While disclosing the fact the Transport and Roads Development Minister Hon. Abdillahi Abokor Osman said that there were 163 seasonal rivers or streams that dotted the Erigavo-Burao road that needs proper culverts to tame the water currents.
Flanked by Finance Minister Hon. Dr. Sa’ad Ali Shire, Hon. Abokor noted that the said road was more than twice the distance of Berbera – Hargeisa highway with 58 water current points crossing the road.
The minister revealed that the culvert facilities worth 983,000 US Dollars were purchased from South Africa hence more containers were on their way.
Hon. Sa’ad acknowledged the need of the facilities in the roads constructions noting that their imperativeness would help save the constructed roads from un-due perils due to flash floods.
The Port Manager who was at hand to conduct the tour of the cabinet ministers at the harbor pledged that they would expedite expreessly the handling of the forthcoming containers once they hit the port.
The duo who was accompanied by the Education director-general.
Earlier on they inspected the site of the ongoing construction of the new port being put up near the old one.
President graces function unveiling association for camel farmers
Information minister heralds age of bolstering intensive animal production

The President of the Republic H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi graced a function that unveiled the camel farmers’ association.
This is the first time that such an association has been set up for the development of the sector.
The Head of State was flanked by the Livestock and Fisheries Development Minister Hon. Said Sulub, the Information, Culture, and National Guidance Minister Hon. Suleiman Ali Kore, Agriculturural Development minister Hon. Ahmed Mumin Seed and the National Police Force Commander Brig. General Abdillahi amongst several senior eminent personalities.
To welcome them was the association’s chairman Mr. Mustaffa Ali Duale who spoke at length on the need of the organization for the development of the sector.
The Livestock Minister likewise dwelt on the importance of camel as a farm animal whereas his information counterpart heralded the new age of our pastoralists to indulge into intensive farming such that maximum profile may be accrued from their production.
He noted that time has reached where intensive farming may be focused on hence the sector would be competitive at the international level.
The organization is expected to do a lot of dissemination of animal husbandry ethics such that the country may achieve great results for the pastoralists in the near future.
