HARGEISA, 2 November 2026 — The Committee on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Planning and Investment of the Somaliland House of Representatives held an introductory meeting and briefing today with the Head of the British Office in Hargeisa, Ms. Louise Hancock.
The delegation was led by the Committee’s Chairman, Mr. Mohamed Hussein Jamaac (Raanbo), and included committee members and staff from the Committee Secretariat.
Discussions centered on the general situation in Somaliland and the wider region, with particular emphasis on political and security developments. Both sides exchanged views and briefings on current circumstances and emerging regional issues.
The meeting forms part of the Committee’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international relations and cooperation, promote the exchange of information and perspectives on matters concerning Somaliland and the region, and enhance engagement between the Committee and representatives of the international community.
The talks also sought to foster mutual understanding and strengthen constructive cooperation on matters of shared interest.
