H.E Musa Bihi Abdi, the President of Somaliland, on Monday, received Mr. Mohamed Ali Guyo, Special Envoy of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, IGAD, to Somalia here in Hargeisa.
The meeting focused on the peacebuilding as the only impetus for development in the context of Puntland and Somaliland. IGAD Special envoy to Somalia, Hon. Mohamed Ali Guyo is on a working visit to Hargeisa, the republic of Somaliland. The Minister for foreign affairs & International Cooperation, Mr. Yasin Faraton was in attendance at the high-level meeting between the Head of State from Somaliland and IGAD Special Envoy to Somalia, ambassador Mohamed Ali Guyo.
He attended a meeting that UN officials held discussions with the minister for labor and social affairs of Somaliland yesterday. The delegation from the UN and the minister discussed ways to encourage women to have a fair representation in Somaliland politics.
The UN officials were briefed on the quota that was allotted for women in Somaliland parliament and local councils.
