Las Anod – A group of five members of the North West Administration’s Council of Representatives has formally tendered their resignations, citing significant policy misalignments and the failure to achieve key developmental objectives in the Las Anod region.
In a joint statement released on Saturday, the lawmakers revealed that their decision follows an exhaustive year-long review of the regional administration’s strategic framework. They noted that despite their initial hopes, the current governance model in Las Anod does not adequately serve the best interests of the local population.
The MPs further disclosed that they had repeatedly attempted to initiate corrective measures from within the system. However, their efforts were met with resistance, as their policy recommendations and reform proposals were consistently disregarded by the leadership.
Consequently, the group declared their official withdrawal from the parliamentary body, emphasizing that their resignation is rooted in a principled commitment to their constituents’ welfare. They also pledged to elaborate on their future political direction and the broader public interests they intend to champion in the coming weeks.

- Abdisalaan Abdulaahi Mohamed

- Ahmed Ali Mohamed
Concluding their statement, the representatives extended their gratitude to the public and assured that further announcements regarding their political roadmap will be made in due course.
