The Ministry of Mines and Energy has organized a meeting to discuss the regulation of Mining and Exploration in Gabiley and Marodijeh regions, which was held at the meeting hall at the ministry’s headquarters.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of the Ministry Abdilahi Abdi Farah, his deputy, the director of the department of Mines, the ministry’s legal expert and officials of the sector.

Also in attendance was the Governor of Marodijeh Region, the Deputy Governor of Gabiley Region and the administrators of Dar es Salaam and Agabar districts.

Al Nasri Mining Co, Sugaal Mining Company, Seven Mining Company, and the two cooperatives Dhuxun and Maluugta were also participants.

This meeting, which is of great importance to the country’s mineral production plan, was based on the following points:

  1. Regulating and finding sustainable solutions for lithium mining sites.
  2. Interpretation of the Mining Act (Act No. 100/2023) and the application of the laws
  3. Protection of security.

They concluded the meeting by setting up a committee to reduce disputes in mining issues and to work together on social issues such as security.
