Hargeisa – The Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Abdirahman Hassan, opened a meeting emphasizing the Ministry’s role in steering foreign policy and the necessity for a Whole-of-Government Approach to protect national interests in a unified manner.
The Director-General stated that the implementation of effective results and full coordination among government institutions leads to national interests becoming unified and jointly protected.
During the meeting, participating institutions presented their roles related to external relations, specifically trade and investment, travel and border security, the environment and climate change, education, the role of the diaspora, and youth development.
The Directors-General of the Ministries of Investment, Defense, and Sports, who addressed the meeting, pledged to actively play their part in the issues discussed.
The discussions called for strengthening the importance of effective international cooperation and internal collaboration.
In conclusion, the meeting highlighted the need for continuous institutional coordination and strengthening international linkages. It was announced that a follow-up meeting will be held in three months to evaluate the implementation of the agreed-upon points.
