Hargeisa– The Minister of Livestock Development and Rural Rehabilitation of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Omar Shucayb Mohamed, alongside the ministry’s Director General Ahmed Osman Jama Talo-same and Deputy Minister Ali Ahmed Abdi (Ali Cantar), jointly received a delegation of local and international investors interested in investing in and developing the livestock sector.
The meeting focused on exploring investment opportunities, livestock processing technologies, increasing production, and expanding into international markets for livestock exports.
Ministry officials warmly welcomed the investors’ interest and underscored the importance of public-private partnership throughout the discussions. They emphasized that such collaboration is vital for enhancing production, creating employment, and driving economic growth in the Republic of Somaliland.
The investors, including prominent businessman Mohamed Ibrahim Aadan (Qabyo-tire), presented their investment interests, business plans, and the opportunities they see within the livestock sector. They expressed readiness to invest in processing, marketing, and the export of livestock products. They also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and mutual understanding between the government and the private sector.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to advancing the livestock industry as a cornerstone of Somaliland’s economy.
