Armistice Day, also known as Veterans Day has been commemorated in Hargeisa.

A message Lizzie Walker, head of the British Office in Hargeisa posted on Twitter related to the commemoration was as follows;

“A moment of silence and reflection at the Hargeisa Commonwealth war cemetery this morning. Remembering those of many faiths and nationalities who lost their lives in service.

“When you go home, tell them of us and say, ‘For your tomorrow, we gave our today’”.

Armistice Day, also known as Veterans Day is commemorated every year on 11 November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiègne, France.
