The Ministry of Energy and Minerals of the Republic of Somaliland has participated in the SAIPEC-Sub Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition Conference, 6th Edition 2022 in Lagos, Nigeria on how to accelerate the exploitation of oil resources in African countries.

The conference brought together many African countries, major African oil companies, and participants from around the world., Ministry of Energy and Minerals representing the nation of the Republic of Somaliland was officially invited to the conference and honored to present a comprehensive report on fuel at the conference.

The Sub Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (SAIPEC) stands as not only the largest event in the centre of the region’s oil and gas hub, but also the only truly industry-led event, held in partnership with the country’s petroleum sector. Its content and proceedings are driven by an esteemed steering committee and speakers, representing a cross-section of key stakeholders and the most senior representatives from the Sub Sarahan Africa oil and gas industry, delivering high-level strategic sessions and discussions on game-changing solutions, combined with an international exhibition.

Participation in this conference represents a great opportunity for the ministry to liaise and collaborate with oil / gas ministries, agencies and companies in Africa and around the world for the benefit of developing the nation’s oil resources.

This is part of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals’ drive to realize its responsibilities to the nation for the developing and extraction of oil and mineral resources so that the people of Somaliland can develop and prosper.

Now the biggest industry event for the region, 2020’s world-class conference featured 72 industry leaders and global experts on an insightful programme which was held alongside the sold-out exhibition with 111 companies showcasing their products and services and generating meetings with thousands of invested industry professionals.Over 3500 attendees participated in total, from 36 countries, including 20 National Oil Companies from Mozambique, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Uganda, Angola, Cameroon, Ghana, Liberia, Equatorial Guinea, and the Gambia.
