Berbera -The Manager of the Somaliland Ports Authority, Mr. Ali Diiriye Ahmed, officially received a high-level delegation at Berbera Port representing the RIDNE Food Consortium—a Ukraine-based umbrella organization renowned for its integrated approach to agricultural production, food processing, and logistics, particularly within humanitarian relief frameworks.

RIDNE operates an expansive network of farms and processing facilities, overseeing a full-cycle supply chain that encompasses everything from cultivation and production to storage, transportation, and final distribution.

The delegation’s primary mission was to evaluate Berbera Port’s potential as a strategic gateway for the landing, warehousing, and onward distribution of humanitarian food aid across the Horn of Africa, Sudan, and Yemen. Should the initiative materialize, it would represent a transformative milestone for Berbera—cementing its status as a vital node in regional trade, disaster response, and logistical coordination.

Alongside the RIDNE delegation were representatives from the Tony Blair Institute, currently undertaking an exploratory mission in Somaliland to identify prospective opportunities for cross-sectoral engagement and institutional partnerships.

Taken together, these engagements reflect Berbera Port’s deepening role as a catalyst for trade integration, humanitarian logistics, and international cooperation in the wider region.
