Somaliland President Hosts Kenyan MP and Investment Delegation in Hargeisa

HARGEISA – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro), held a high-level meeting today at the Presidential Palace with Kenyan Member of Parliament Mpuru Aburi, who represents the Tigania East constituency, alongside a delegation of accompanying investors.

The President was joined in the talks by the Chairman of the WADDANI Party, H.E. Hirsi Ali Haji Hassan, and the Party’s Deputy Chairman, Mohamed Haji Yusuf (Waabeeyo).

Discussions centered on deepening bilateral ties and fostering strategic cooperation between Somaliland and Kenya, with particular emphasis on political engagement, trade, investment, economic development, and shared growth opportunities that promise mutual benefits for both nations and their peoples.

Welcoming the delegation’s visit, President Irro reaffirmed Somaliland’s unwavering commitment to regional collaboration and private sector development. He underscored that the country is actively working to create a favorable business climate, attract foreign direct investment, and harness its abundant natural resources—stressing that Somaliland remains open for business and ready to partner with international stakeholders.

In response, Hon. Mpuru Aburi expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm reception extended to his team. He affirmed his strong dedication to strengthening the partnership between the two republics and pledged to play a personal and proactive role in advancing shared priorities—vowing to champion initiatives that serve the common interests of both countries and their citizens.
