Berbera – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Cirro), today officially inaugurated the Berbera Power Expansion Project. This strategic project significantly enhances energy services and economic growth throughout the Sahil region, particularly in the city of Berbera.
The Berbera Power Expansion Project (5WP PV Solar and 33KV Power Transmission Line spanning 11.2 km) formally fulfills the President’s commitment to providing the people of Berbera with affordable, reliable, and sustainable electricity. The project is designed to meet the growing demand in Berbera, which serves as a commercial hub for the nation.
The President emphasized that reliable electricity is the backbone of investment, industrial development, social services, and job creation.
This project is a key component of the government’s comprehensive plan to strengthen economic infrastructure across the country, with a particular focus on strategic cities, in order to accelerate economic growth and sustainable development.
