Hargeisa – The President of the Republic of Somaliland today held a meeting at the Presidential Palace with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Professor Yassin H. Mahmuud (Faratoon), General Mahad Cambaashe, politician Fahiima Yusuf Quuje, the Chairman of the National Peace Committee, Abdulqaadir Jirde, along with Ministers and other government officials. The meeting focused on strengthening the foundation of peace, unity, and social cohesion in Somaliland.

The President once again reaffirmed that since the day he was sworn into office (December 12, 2024), the top priority of his administration has been the preservation of peace, stability, and fraternity among the people of Somaliland—from east to west. He strongly emphasized that any existing disputes or tensions must be resolved through dialogue, mutual understanding, and lasting brotherhood.

The President of the Republic of Somaliland extended special appreciation to politician Fahiima Yusuf Quuje, thanking her for returning to her homeland and for embracing its culture and flag. He noted that her return contributes to the peace-building efforts and fosters unity among the communities in the eastern part of the Sool region.

The President called upon all segments of society to work together for the nation’s peace and solidarity, stressing that the Republic of Somaliland belongs to all its citizens equally, and that safeguarding its unity and peace is a shared national responsibility.
