The second round of Somaliland-Somalia consultative meeting has resumed in Djibouti on Tuesday. The incumbent Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh is chairing the meeting.

The US government has sent representatives that were given the duty to participate in the talks.

Somaliland President Musa Bihi Abdi in an address to the technical committees chosen from Somalia and Somalia has urged to hold discussions based on the truth.

Bihi has expressed that he is hopeful that the dialogue will be successful and will bear fruit.

Bihi said “We have come here to present the facts on the ground. We will tell what we see as problematic. We have come here to say what is the best interest of Somalis which is quite necessary. We tell our dear brothers that we are ready to listen to opposing views and to show a high sense of patience. We will see the conflicting views in different angles. That is what we want from you as the technical committees. Yesterday the presidents held talks while they were listened. We have delegated our responsibilities to the ministerial committees. We have done our rectifications. The eyes are on the technical ministerial committees. You have to reach an agreement which reflects what is the best interest that we can agree upon.”
