HARGEISA – 12 April 2026 – The Chairman of the Somaliland National Party (WADDANI), Mr. Hersi Ali H. Hassan, has officially appointed a new Party Committee on Justice, Religion, and Awareness, as part of his earlier commitment to reform the party, deepen civic engagement, and enhance the party’s representation in Parliament, government, and the public sphere.
The committee is tasked with aligning the work of the ruling party with relevant government ministries, including Justice, Religious Affairs & Endowments, and Information. Its responsibilities include information exchange, policy advice, public awareness, and coordination between party organs and state institutions.
This move fulfills the Chairman’s pledge to strengthen the party’s institutional role, improve accountability, and ensure that WADDANI effectively represents citizens both inside and outside government structures.
Committee Appointments:
· Chairman: MP Ahmed Noor Guruje
· Secretary for Information & Awareness: Ms. Khadra Omar Samriye (Khayriya)
· Secretary for Justice: Mr. Liban Mohamed Hussein
· Secretary for Religion & Endowments: Mr. Hussein Aden Jama
According to the party directive, the chairman is authorized to speak on behalf of the committee and the party on relevant matters. The decision cites the WADDANI Party constitution, Somaliland’s Political Organizations Law, and the national constitution as its legal basis.
The party leadership called for unity, success, and productive work that earns public praise.
