Somaliland:President Silanyo Promised Awdal Traditional Leaders that he would Look into their Plight and Do the Necessary

Somaliland Minister of Information Hon Abdullah Mohamed Dahir Cukuse currently accompanying President Silanyo on upcountry tour said, “H.E President Silanyo during his meeting this week with Awdal traditional and religious leader agreed that all outstanding grievances will be solved.

Hon Cukuse speaking to reporters in the border town said, “During the meeting with religious leaders, intellectuals, elders, traditional chieftains discussed outstanding matters relating to politics, development among other issues.

“President Silanyo during his meeting with religious leaders, intellectuals, elders, traditional chieftains in Borame discussed the current situation in Awdal region and issues regarding development. The elders expressed their sentiments and at the same time reiterating Awdalites were peace loving and thanked the current government for its efforts in implementing development in the region”, he stated.

The information Minister added the traditional leaders lamented that their previous grievances appeals were adversely misused by Somaliland foes.

“The traditional leader’s traditional leaders lamented that their previous grievances appeals to President Silanyo were similar to those of fellow countrymen but unfortunately were adversely misused by Somaliland foes but they reiterated that had confidence the President Silanyo would solve their grievances”, he said.

Hon Cukuse concluded by stating, “The traditional elders acknowledged that their complaints existed long before President Silanyo assumed office but they believed he had the will to solve their outstanding issues and that President Silanyo had promised to look into their grievances.
