Dr- Saad Ali Shire - April 2-2015 - sRedsea Cultural Foundation is delighted to host Dr Saad Ali Shire, the Minister of Planning and Development of the Republic of Somaliland to talk on the Role of Somaliland civil society as a critical pillar of Somaliland Development of the Country, on Tuesday, 7 April, 2015, 19.00 at Hargeysa Cultural Center.

Somaliland’s vision of 2030 aspires for a Stable, Democratic and Prosperous Country where people enjoy a high quality of life, through the building of five pillars: Economic Development, Infrastructure Development, Good Governance, Social Development and Environmental Protection. Dr. Saad Ali Shire will discuss with the public the role of the civil society to achieve  these five pillars, which are the guiding principles of  the country’s  five year National Development Plan-NDP.

Dr Saad Ali Shire is not new in the work of civil society as founding member of Hargeysa University, MoU with Berbera Maritime & Fisheries Academy, Somaliland National Academy of Sciences and Arts, and many other national initiatives.

Redsea Cultural Foundation is a literature and arts organization based in Hargeysa, Somaliland, which aims to foster a new generation of literate, creative, and open-minded youth who will contribute towards the development of their societies. RCF established Hargeysa Cultural Center last year, and with a theater, art gallery space and a library, the Cultural Centre is intended as a cultural hub for artists in Somaliland as well as international artists visiting the region.
