Tomorrow marks the first anniversary of the launch of The Conversation Africa.

We would like to thank you, our readers, for your support.

The website went live on May 7, 2015 with the purpose of delivering commentary and analysis written by academics and edited by professional journalists. Over the past 12 months we have provided access to new cutting-edge research and expert analysis that previously would have remained locked in the academy.

Thanks to your support we have achieved some extraordinary milestones. These include the fact that over 90% of the nearly 1 000 articles we’ve published since we launched have been re-used by other media outlets. Through republication under our Creative Commons license we have achieved 9 million reads.

Here are some other highlights.

We very much look forward to sharing great articles with you over the coming months and years.
