In a significant display of growing diplomatic closeness, Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro) was the guest of honor at a dinner hosted by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) in Washington, D.C. this week.
Addressing the delegation, President Irro lauded the deepening bond between Hargeisa and Taipei, describing the relationship as one built on “mutual trust and shared vision.” He emphasized that the partnership transcends simple cooperation, focusing instead on a joint commitment to innovation and democratic governance.
The President’s visit to Washington underscores Somaliland’s proactive foreign policy, as the administration seeks to solidify its presence on the global stage through direct engagement with reliable international partners like Taiwan.
