Mogadishu, 22 December 2018 – The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has strongly condemned the simultaneous bomb attacks, which occurred last night and today morning in Mogadishu.
The three attacks by Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIED) targeted civilians and security forces, in the busy central business district, causing fatalities.
“These senseless, heinous attacks by Al-Shabaab will not change the course of progress happening in Somalia,” Ambassador Madeira, the AU Special Representative for Somalia said.
On behalf of AMISOM, Ambassador Madeira condoles with families of those killed in the attacks and wishes those injured a quick recovery.
