Jigjoga – In a significant humanitarian intervention, the Dahabshiil Foundation has donated $100,000 to the regional government of DDS (Darawish/DDS) to bolster emergency relief efforts for communities severely impacted by the ongoing drought.
The funds have been immediately mobilized to address the critical water shortage. According to officials, the donation is facilitating the operation of hundreds of water trucks, which will now be able to deliver life-sustaining water to vulnerable populations across ten districts heavily affected by the drought. This vital water supply operation is scheduled to continue for a period of one month.
Regional authorities have welcomed the contribution, highlighting it as a crucial part of broader efforts to alleviate the drought’s devastating impact on local communities. In a statement, officials commended the Dahabshiil Foundation for its prompt response and extended an urgent appeal to other private companies, corporations, and humanitarian organizations to step forward and actively participate in providing aid to the thousands of families suffering from the crisis.
