Six injured militiamen who were among 10 other captured by Somaliland army this week in the district of Hudun of sool region have been brought to Burco general hospital for specialized treatment.
The Khatuumo affiliated militiamen were held at the Burco maximum prison after been captured during a fierce firefight last Tuesday in Hudun district after a failed ambush they had launched on a Somaliland army base,said Gen Shaqalle.
General Ismael Mohamed Osman (Shaqalle) told reporters during a press briefing “ units belonging to the national army had dispelled an ambush on a military base in Hudun ,inflicting heavy losses on the Khatuumo militiamen capturing 10 prisoners and 2 technical battle-wagons and one heavy duty vehicle after pursing them as they tried to flee for more the 40km,.
The army chief also revealed that two soldiers belonging to the national army were injured in the battle which lasted more than two hours.
Somaliland Red crescent society has been granted access to the six militiamen.

Somaliland is a regional admin of Somalia so is Khaatumo. Garadag Habro must stop their tribal skirmishes, else the National Army will move in sooner or later, but at the mean time Khaatumo can defend their territory from the Garadag agression. So often we talk about crimes against humanity and massacre of innocent civilians. However, what is not clear is what you call when a self-declared entity with no defined borders and which is not recognized by anyone as a government commits violence against civilian population in their neighbourhood. In fact, the violence committed by an illegal entity against civilians is more criminal than that committed by a recognized authority. The savage action of the tribal militia of Garadagland is not much different from the violence committed by Al-shabab terrorists against Somali civilians. Both entities have no legal jurisdiction to carry out justice or to apply the rule of law.
Let us be clear of one important fact; those who use usurped power to apply their own justice on others and in the process embark on crimes against civilians are committing crimes against humanity and could one day be brought to justice. Tribal justice does not replace legitimate government and doe not replace the law of the land.
