“The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” [Tirmidhi]

The long established Cardiff Somaliland Community is coming together to help fundraise and coordinate with combating the spread of the growing COVID-19 pandemic in Somaliland.

We need your help urgently! We aim to raise at least £10,000 to help buy emergency medical items and supplies such as testing kits, ventilators, personal protective equipment, disinfectants, sanitizers, gloves, gowns, masks, medicines, soap and much, much more.

Most of our hospitals have no functioning intensive care units to support an increased number of patients suffering from the Coronavirus.

Abu Huraira (Radhi-Allahu ‘anhu) reported: Allah’s Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) as saying:

Charity does not in any way decrease the wealth and the servant who forgives, Allah adds to his respect; and the one who shows humility, Allah elevates him in the estimation (of the people).

[Sahih Muslim – Book 032: Hadith 6264]

We desperately need your help to get emergency supplies and equipment to the Republic of Somaliland urgently so that it can get to the frontline doctors, nurses, health professionals, and other public officials fighting this deadly disease.

We are authorised by the Somaliland Mission to the UK and the Commonwealth to fundraise for Somaliland’s fight against COVID-19 and any money raised will be sent to the National COVID-19 Task Force in Somaliland who are co-ordinating efforts across all of the regions in the Republic of Somaliland.

We thank you all in advance for your help and support in this difficult time, and hope that you and your family and friends stay safe and well, wherever you are inshaAllah.
