One of the fierce critic of Djibouti President Ismael Guelleh has been apprehended in the semi-autonomous region of Somaliland. Arreh Souleiman Aouled Arreh was nabbed by officials on the night of May 20.
The Djiboutian had at the time of his arrest been in Gabiley district of Somaliland. Arreh used to criticize the government of Djibouti led by its President Ismail Omar Gelle for quite a while and has been on the radar of Djiboutian authorities.
He quite often used his Facebook page to lampoon the government of Djibouti. Authorities in Somaliland are yet to issue a formal statement regarding the arrest of the Arreh.
It is not known whether the Somaliland government will liaise with its Djiboutian counterpart in extraditing the critic or he will remain behind bars in Somaliland. Djibouti government is yet to also officially comment on the arrest of the fugitive critic.
