The president of Somaliland, H.E Musa Bihi Abdi speaking on behalf of the country’s citizens, the government and his own self has sent a message condolences to the immediate and extended family of the late General Jama Mohamed Qaalib who passed away on 26 April 2022 in Djibouti.

The late General, was amongst the first batch of Police officers, and former Somaliland Police Services in April 1955. He was enlisted by the British colonial government.

He also served in the Somalia Police when Somaliland reunited with that country. After retiring from the police, he worked as a university lecturer.

The head of state prayed and sent supplications for the late General Jama asking Almighty All Powerful and All Majestic Allah to have mercy on his soul. He also prayed to God to grant his family patience and faith during this trying moment of their lives.

In a related story the former Somaliland President H.E. Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud (Silanyo) and his family sent his message of solace and sympathy to the late General Jama Mohamed Qaalib family. The former statesman said that General Jama spent six decades working for the development of his people. He said that he was also instrumental in the fight for independence from Somalia and rebuilding Somaliland. He acknowledged that the late General Jama was a very strong pillar holding the people of Somaliland and other Somalis and prayed for Almighty Allah to bless him with the highest accolades in paradise. The fourth president of Somaliland told the late General family to exercise patience and faith during this difficult period.

Also sending message of grief is the Vice-President H.E. Abdirahman Sayli’i,  Chairman of the Senate Hon. Suleiman Mohamud Adam and the Speaker of Parliament Hon. Abdirizak Khalif Ahmed, Minister of Interior Mohamed, Kahin, Minister of Finance Hon. Dr Saad A. shire.

They all underlined that the late General Jama was an intellectual who was at the forefront of the country development agenda, and prayed to Almighty Allah to have mercy on him.

Somaliland Army boss, Police Commissioner, Immigration chief and Intelligence Chief sent their condolences to the family and country for passing on of General Jama. They prayed to Almighty Allah to have mercy on him.

In another development, the three opposition Chiefs sent their message of solace to the late General family.  They prayed for his entry into paradise.
