The President of the Republic His Excellency Musa Bihi Abdi on Sunday presided over the passing out parade of graduated national armed forces servicemen at Abdillahi Askar military college in Daraweyne.

The recruits trained in batches at different military colleges across the country.

The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Defense, and the service commanders of the national security forces.

Speakers at the venue lauded the graduates for their endeavors and wished them well in their future tasks as servicemen.

The Chief Commander of the National Armed Forces Major General Nuh Ismail Tani gave details about the trainees and the different places where they undertook their courses.

He noted that the state has invested and put a lot of effort and capital to churn out well-trained, elite, and dependable servicemen.

“They need to defend their country and their people from the aggression such as that perpetrated by the Puntland administration in provocations that our nation cannot tolerate such in the country”, he said.

The Minister of Defense Hon. Abdiqani Mohamud Aateeye (Farid), also praised the troops who completed the training and lauded their instructors, and pointed out that they have joined the gallant profession which protects the human rights and honor of the citizens., and take victory easily from the enemy.

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Muse Bihi Abdi, who gave a speech touching on many aspects of the army, first of all, congratulated them on the completion of the training and stated that the army is a symbol of peace.

He said, “I congratulate all the different forces of the nation who are ready day and night so that their people sleep and wake up in peace, safeguarding their property, and maintaining a condition for our people to prosper”.

He added, “We congratulate the heroes of the various forces of the national army who are strong and dedicated to their people’s peace and future.”

The president explained to the young people who joined the army the value of the army for the people and the nation hence reminding them that it is a culture of their people to selflessly defend their people and their rights.

On the Sool crisis, he pointed out that it is incumbent upon the people of the region and Somaliland to thrush out issues through peaceful dialogue since it concerns them only.
