Berbera-30-01-2020-The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland HE Abdurrahman Abdallahi Ismail (Saylici) and members of the cabinet on Thursday were hosted onboard an EU Naval Force patrol ship, whereby he was briefed by the EU Ambassador and officer in charge of the European Union Marine task force on the operations they undertake.
During the meeting on board the European Union Maritime vessel, the two sides discussed the overall security of the international waters protected by the European Union and how they work with the Somaliland Coast Guard. On the other hand, they lauded Somaliland’s role in fighting piracy and terrorism and at the same time outlining their collaboration with Somaliland Coast Guard.
The vice president met with the crew of the warship and briefed on the ship’s equipment and combat capabilities.
The Vice President was flanked by Interior Minister Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, Minister of Public Works Abdirashid Haji Duale (Qanbi) Minister of National Planning Hassan Mohamed Ali (Gafaadhi) Chief of Coast Guard Brigadier Mohamed Hussein Farah (Hiraane).
