Somaliland Ministry of National Planning and Development held the annual national social sector planning conference on formulation of integrated national policy and planning framework for regional, district and social sector development plans for the various ministries and non-governmental organizations.
Mr. Mubarig Abdillahi Ibrahim, the director of planning department at the Ministry of National planning and Development speaking during the one day conference said, “The aim of this national conference is for us to formulate an integrated national policy and planning framework for regional, district and social sector development plans and also to come up with ways in which we can oversee the formulation and preparation of long-term, medium-term and short-term national development plans.
Hon Ali Salaan jirde “Ali Shoombe”, Minister of National Planning and Development speaking during the conference said, “During the course of the conference, we shall develop a method for formulating an integrated national policy and planning framework for regional, district level so that we can come up with the priorities and strategies for social sector development plans, I hope we shall succeed in a producing a workable policy which provide a framework upon which national strategies and implementation plans will be anchored.
Hon Hassan Omer Hoori, the Director General in the Ministry of National Planning and Development said, “As we come to conclusion of our meeting, we have identified social development projects such as water development, health and education should be given first priority, so whatever the outcome should be something stated on paper but should be practical.
Among those taking part in the one conference were Ministry of National Planning regional and district coordinators and representatives of the various ministries.
