The Director General of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Ahmed Mahmud Jama, along with a delegation he is leading, participated in the International Africa-Asia Pacific Health Innovation and Global Partnership Summit, held in Taipei, Taiwan.
The summit, which brought together health leaders, international experts, and officials from African and Asian nations, focused on strengthening global cooperation, health innovation, and the application of modern technology to enhance the quality of healthcare services.
During the conference, the Director General and his delegation held productive meetings with the heads of Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and other officials from participating countries. The discussions explored opportunities for collaboration in healthcare service development, training for health professionals, and support for modern medical equipment.
Dr. Ahmed Mahmud Jaamac presented a report to the forum on the progress made in Somaliland’s healthcare services, existing needs, and strategic plans aimed at improving the quality of the nation’s health services. He emphasized the importance of building sustainable partnerships based on knowledge exchange, innovation, and the sharing of expertise.
The delegation’s separate meetings with Taiwan’s Ministry of Health further strengthened cooperative and friendly relations between the Republic of Somaliland and Taiwan, particularly in the fields of health, innovation, and healthcare development projects.
The Director General noted that participation in this summit reflects the Ministry of Health Development’s commitment to grounding the country’s healthcare services in innovation, modern technology, and international cooperation that benefits the people of the Republic of Somaliland.
