HARGEISA – The Windle Trust, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Science of the Republic of Somaliland, hosted a graduation ceremony today for 70 teachers who have successfully completed an intensive English language training program.

The event was graced by senior education officials, including the Director General of the Ministry of Education, Abdirahman Hussein Hirsi; the Director of the Teacher Training College; and the Director of the Teacher Development and Training Department. Also in attendance were representatives from the Windle Trust, Madam Adna Adan, and the graduating cohort of teachers.

Speaking at the ceremony, officials extended their warm congratulations to the graduates and urged them to apply their newly acquired language skills toward improving the quality and standard of education across the country. They emphasized that investing in teacher capacity building remains a cornerstone of Somaliland’s educational development agenda.

The training program, facilitated by the Windle Trust, is part of broader efforts to enhance the professional competencies of educators, with a particular focus on strengthening English language instruction in schools.
