A high level UAE delegation consisting of representatives of Sheik Khaliif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation arrived in the country for an inspection and assessment of the various projects funded by the foundation.

The UAE Delegation led by Mr. Mohamed Bin Khouri , the head of Al Khalifa Foundation in charge of humanitarian projects in Africa was received by Minister of Water Resource Hon Bashe Ali Jama

The Minister of Water Resources Hon Bashe Ali Jama said, “The representatives of UAE Khaliifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation are currently in the country visiting and inspecting the Humbowaayne water supply project which upon completion will ease the water scarcity in the city of Hargeisa and the various projects funded by the foundation.

Mr. Mohamed Bin Khouri , the head of Al Khalifa Foundation in charge of humanitarian projects in Africa speaking during the press conference said, “It’s my pleasure to be here in Somaliland , according to instructions of Sheik Khaliifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan , the President of the UAE and Sheik Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi , as you’re aware of Khaliifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has many ongoing development in Somaliland.

“I would like to reiterate that new project is intended to alleviate problems of the water shortage in the city by supplying enough clean water to all the sectors of the town including to those without the water connections now and we also look forward inn initiating similar projects in the future”, he said

The main development projects Sheik Khaliifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation is currently implementing in the country is in the water sector but apart from that the foundation is constructing three hospitals in Saxil and Togdheer region.

UAE Khaliifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation had previously through the Afro Arabian Gulf Drilling and Construction Company have completed and handed over 10 boreholes drilled and equipped in the Humbowaayne Basin approximately 30 km NE of Hargeisa City.
