Hargeisa – The leadership of the ruling political party in the country, WADDANI, welcomed members from the Liberal Party of Norway at the party’s headquarters, accompanied by leaders from the national organization YEEL Development Organization, who are implementing the WOMPOL project, which focuses on the political participation of women and youth.
The chairman of the ruling party WADDANI, Mr. Hersi Ali X. Hassan, provided a comprehensive briefing to these members about the long history of the democratic system that the Republic of Somaliland has evolved from and the party’s plan regarding the political participation of women and youth. He emphasized the efforts made by WADDANI and his government to support women and youth during the elections for the House of Representatives and local councils held in 2021. The chairman pointed out that the political program of WADDANI had a significant role played by women and youth, with the implementation of this commitment promised by the President of Somaliland.
On the other hand, the chairman of the ruling party WADDANI, Mr. Hersi Ali X. Hassan, urged the parties supporting women and youth to sincerely address the challenges facing women, stressing that they, as a government, must take their role seriously.
