Hargeisa, Somaliland – The Chairman of Somaliland’s Waddani Party, Hersi Haji Ali Hassan, has issued a formal statement commending the successful inauguration of the national program dedicated to the Selection, Recording, and Printing of the Holy Qur’an, describing it as a sacred milestone in the nation’s spiritual and cultural journey.
Chairman Hersi personally attended the ceremony held today in Hargeisa, which was jointly organized by the Ministry of Religion and Endowments and the Ministry of Information. The event was also graced by His Excellency President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Cirro), who officially launched the Somaliland National Qur’an Reciters Council alongside the new recording and publication program.
In his official address, Chairman Hersi reflected on the significance of the occasion:

The Chairman extended his sincere and wholehearted commendation to Minister of Religion and Endowments, Sheikh Abdillahi Dahir Jama (Abdillahi Bashe), and Minister of Information, Barkhad Jama Batuun, praising their unwavering dedication to religious affairs and, more specifically, their relentless efforts in championing the promotion and preservation of the Holy Qur’an.

President Cirro, in his remarks at the ceremony, described himself as a devoted servant of the Holy Qur’an and called upon the nation to remain steadfast in its adherence to Islamic teachings, emphasizing that the values of peace, justice, and social cohesion are the bedrock of Somaliland’s progress.
