Hargeisa, Somaliland – The Minister of Energy and Minerals of the Republic of Somaliland, Eng. Ahmed Jama Barre, today welcomed a delegation from AuRONYX, a company expressing keen interest in investing in and exploring the country’s energy and mineral resources.

The meeting, held at the Minister’s office, was led by Lorenzo Morolda and MP Sir Gavin Williamson. Discussions centered on the vast investment opportunities within Somaliland’s mining sector, ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, and mechanisms to accelerate the implementation of effective projects that would contribute to the nation’s economic growth.

A key focus of the talks was the importance of ensuring that all investments are grounded in efficiency, accountability, and full compliance with national laws. Both sides emphasized that adherence to legal frameworks is essential for the sustainable and long-term utilization of Somaliland’s natural resources.

Minister Ahmed Jama Barre reaffirmed that Somaliland is endowed with significant mineral wealth and boasts an attractive and welcoming investment climate. He underscored his Ministry’s readiness to support investors who are committed to operating within the country’s legal parameters and who seek enduring partnerships that deliver mutual benefits for Somaliland and the investing entities.

The delegation’s visit marks a continued effort to engage international partners in unlocking the potential of Somaliland’s extractive industries, with both parties expressing optimism about future collaboration.
