Hargeisa, Somaliland – The much-anticipated Republic of Somaliland Diaspora Week Conference officially commenced today in the capital city, Hargeisa, with a resounding call to strengthen the unbreakable ties between the homeland and its citizens living abroad. The landmark national event was inaugurated in a high-level ceremony attended by senior government figures, diplomatic envoys, and representatives from various diaspora communities.
In his keynote address at the opening session, Mr. Hersi, the Chairman of the ruling Waddani Party, delivered a powerful speech underscoring the strategic importance of the week-long gathering. He emphasized that this conference is far more than a ceremonial occasion; it is a vital national platform designed to foster concrete collaboration, facilitate knowledge exchange, and chart a clear roadmap for integrating the immense resources and expertise of the global Somaliland community into the country’s long-term socio-economic development.
