The Ministry of Education and Science of Somaliland and the Kenya Institute of Special Education are cooperating in the training of teaching materials for the visually impaired.

A delegation from the education ministry, which is on a trip to Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, met with the head of the KISE after members of the ministry who were there for training completed courses on the training equipment.

A statement from the Ministry of Education and Science of Somaliland reads as follows. β€œThe delegation sent by the Ministry of Education to the Kenyan city of Nairobi has completed learning how to print Braille materials for students with visual needs”.

First of all, the Managing General of KISE Kenya spoke at the graduation ceremony and he said that he was happy that the training is provided and he welcomes the continuation of such collaborations hence expressed his wish to visit Somaliland.

The director of the Curriculum Office, Mr. Mohamed Ali Omar, thanked them for their warm welcome and promised to continue this education and benefit the students.

He also thanked the senior officials of the Ministry of Education, which included the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed Aden Buhane, Deputy Minister Abdihakin Said Bustale and Director General Dr. Abdirisaaq Jama Noor (Nakhuu).
